Accounting Ph.D. Candidate
Emory University
I am a 5th year Ph.D. candidate on the 2025-2026 job market. Before starting my Ph.D. journey, I received a B.S. in Accounting and an M.S. in Philosophy from Boston College. I also worked as an auditor for Deloitte in Boston, where I primarily worked on clients in the manufacturing, biotech, and pharmaceutical spaces. I continue to maintain an active CPA license in Massachusetts.
I predominantly conduct audit research, using my unique background of Philosophy and Accounting to examine auditors' judgment and decision-making. My primary research interests focus on how interpersonal dynamics influence key audit outcomes. For example, I am interested in engagement team hierarchies, supervisor-subordinate relationships and feedback, as well as peer comparisons and communication. Secondarily, I am interested in the impact of advancing technologies in the audit, with a specific focus on how these tools improve or disrupt traditional audit team social dynamics.
Get to Know Me
When I'm not working, I spend most of my time being active outdoors. I am an avid soccer player and rock climber, but also enjoy getting outside whenever I can, whether it is skiing, surfing, golfing, or hiking. To unwind, I read a variety of books, from "classics", to philosophy, to fantasy novels, and am constantly listening to music of all kinds.Â
